Daisy Cottage in Wildes Meadow welcomes you to relax and unwind
Steeped in history, Wildes Meadow was first settled in 1859 by an Irish immigrant, Daniel Bresnahan, and named after Joseph Wild, a servant of Charles Throsby, the original pioneer of the Highlands. It is the perfect place from which to explore the beautiful Southern Highlands, starting with the nearby historic village of Burrawang with its famous pub and the General Store Cafe. Not far away is Robertson, known for its potatoes and its Heritage Railway Station and the nearby "Illawara Fly" treetop walk.
The town of Bowral (home of the Bradman Museum), and quaint villages of Berrima and Bundanoon are just some of the places to visit. For more details on the attractions of the Southern Highlands, its website provides a wealth of information on the area and what's on where.
Travelling south from Wildes Meadow is Fitzroy Falls with its spectacular views and bush walks, and from there a trip down the mountain takes you to Kangaroo Valley, described as Australia's most beautiful valley.
In addition to visiting the surrounding villages with their shops, cafes, antique shops and galleries, you can enjoy wine tasting at the many local vineyards, or for the more active, go bushwalking, horse riding or play a round of golf. Or visit one of the regular markets held throughout the area.
